Malabimba - Neck Snapping Cinemoments!

Over on Eurotrash Paradise, the long running Yahoo group that I'm a very proud member of, we are doing a TVBC (Twisted Video Book Club) on one of my favorite Andrea Bianchi films...MALABIMBA!
I'll add some notes from the discussion on the blog when it is over, but for now I can't resist adding this lovely sleaze gem to my NECK SNAPPING CINEMOMENTS series...Enjoy!

Welcome back to Castello Di Balsorano!

"Ding Dong...woops wrong psychic number!!"

And these are our cast members!

Teddy Bears are not talismans against evil...apparently.

Ah, the teen years...

Patrizia Webley...sleaze queen!

I'm wobbly for Webley!

You can't beat the careful evaluation of a European Trash Cinema Psychologist!

BaaaaaaYOING!!

Note the dual "warmth marks" on that mirror!

Webley...just because.

A sweaty seduction and overcoming of evil!

Neck Snapping Cinemoments return! NAKED FIST!!

It has been a long time since I added to the NECK SNAPPING CINEMOMENTS collection, so why not start again today?  My new focus on video clips will certainly help!  Now, here is something interesting. I am loving the LETHAL LADIES 2 set and need the first volume. It is mentioned however that a shot is missing from Firecracker that is in the version of NAKED FIST I'm used to.  Here it is...HEAD CHOP!

More Neck Snapping CineMoments- Al Bradley is a Brescian Master!

Time for a few additions to the CineMoments Meme on a Monday morning!  Check out this post for more details, or just enjoy the pics that make me go WHA WHA WHAAAAT?  Today is the AL BRADLEY edition-or to quote his film HOMICIDE IN A BLUE LIGHT, "It's ice cream, not shit! Lick it!!"

Cross Mission!!!  While it is hardly the most exciting film in the Al Bradley canon, it has the upside of the fantastic Nelson de la Rosa appearing as ASTAROTH the mystical man the size of a tootsee roll.  He shoots blasts of energy, he has a painted portrait and he takes this fairly simple action film in to the realm of the best of Brescia's spacers!!  I reviewed this one for Tough To Kill, and you can read it here.

The Beast In Space!!!  This entire film is nuts, a porned up Space Saga from the master of the 12 cent light saber.  With this guy stalking you, it gives a whole new meaning to that "svooosh" sound effect that gets lifted from Star Wars.  Review here.

Iron Warrior!  This baddie is pretty much exactly what I would have tried to draw when I was 11 years old.  Truly awesome, and while the film is really just OK, it is not only notable for a cool character design or two, but also that an HD version is shown on MGM HD!  Viva Brescia!!

And now..the greatest sequence involving a Football player, a hollow football, a grenade and a helicopter ever shot and presented to an eager audience that loves EXPLOSIONS.  THE LAST MATCH!!!
While not directed by Al Brescia (the honors go to Fabrizio De Angelis)...this is perfectly in line with what has come before it.  PUNT!!

"Oh dag...our rescue mission is gonna go bad. Drop back and PUNT!!"

"Ah....this should do the trick-Power To The Pigskin!!!"

"Unleashing the ultimate PUNT!"

"HOLY SHIT...HOLY SHIT!!!!!"

I love Alfonso Brescia.

They Call Her One Eye...CineMoments Gallery

Over the years I've written a LOT about Thriller-A Cruel Picture / They Call Her One Eye.  The recent photo gallery meme got me to thinking about how to present it in a slightly different way.  I find the film very powerful, but is it really the image of Christina Lindberg in a duster and eye patch blowing away scumbags that makes the vengeance taste so sweet?
The easy answer is yes, but director Bo Arne Vibenius' film is perhaps to easily dismissed as a girl with gun film.  The level of desperation and humiliation that Frigga / Madeline suffers with on a minute to minute basis, from her early childhood no less, builds and builds on the viewer until you really have no choice but to want to identify with her violence.  This isn't Paul Kersey in Death Wish, Frigga has had it rough for way to long to not find a way to purge this all out.  And she doesn't take a simple path.
She suffers as she plans not only escape, but total vengeance...and her soul pays the tolls along the highway to that final oblivion she drives off in to at films end.  Not only does she lose her parents, but as she ponders her actions in the end, she has lost herself.
But I find this ending hopeful, the Frigga that has run her course is a drug addled and deaf mute victim-what is left is a stronger woman, riding off in to the sunset in a vehicle that suggests authority.
There is not much hope in the VibeniusVerse-wait until I get to Breaking Point-and he would love to have shot Thriller 2 where our "vengeance woman" battles evil terroritsts.
I like to think she found her way back home.
You can't forget the performance of Christina Lindberg either.  At Cinema Wasteland she mentioned the "brilliance of Vibenius" was realizing that she was limited in her acting. Given no dialog at all, Lindberg communicates nothing but raw emotions in her scenes, which are nearly the complete running time.  And she does it well.
Thriller also boasts the presence of Heinz Hopf, a man that did not appreciate his villainous typecasting, but if ever there was a character that deserved to have his head detached from his body by getting it tugged off...his Tony would be it.
So, here are scenes that are not about revenge from one of the great revenge films...THRILLER-A CRUEL PICTURE.

and her vengeance...well...it is magnificently done.

Heinz Hopf...the ultimate bad guy.

Neck Snapping CineMoments...Meme Meyer Madness

Following up my acceptance of the Image Gallery Meme in THIS POST I decided tonight should follow my love of Russ Meyer.  Is it the mammoth breasts? I like 'em, but nope.  Maybe the bizarre low angle shots? Nope... THE TRAILERS!!
There is nothing finer than a trailer featuring Russ himself promising us BONE SNAPPING BELTED BUCKLED SUPERWOMEN!!  in this world.  So, here are a few of the trailer images that I love...the title cards!  I get weak in the knees and feel the need to watch these every time I see the trailer, and these cards a like the BOMPF of having a monstrous DDD dropped on your noggin. Also, they really get me going because they take images from the film and set them under the title...and Russ sure knew how to link a title to a tit!
