Santo - El Enmascarado de Plata photofighters!!

I found scans of a batch of vintage El Santo photonovels...now this would be a fun translation project.  Hmm...well, check out the covers for now!!  Just flipping through them is a lot of fun...El Santo-the man with the knife belt??  Awesome!!! The second cover is just about the best damn thing I've ever seen.

Great covers! I'd like to point out, however, that the man in these photonovels is not the "real" Santo, meaning the one that wrestled and made the films, but another guy wearing the mask. How can one tell the "real" one from the "fake" one? The real Santo was not nearly as buff and had no hair on his chest. Also the real Santo did not sport an "S" on his mask.

All that hair, it is like a bear is impersonating Santo! I love the S and knife as well...

These things are so cool I'm just thrilled to be poking through them.

I was going to ask if this was a Stunt Santo, or else a Santo the publishers thought would have broader appeal due to his buffness and hairiness (it *was* the 70s after all!). Anyway, they look awesome--I wish I could flip through them for a while. Viva El Santo!
