Tough To Kill - Joe D'Amato Warsploitation is a Japanese Joy

Jayson at the always groovy BASEMENT OF GHOULISH DECADENCE mentioned the beloved Joe D'Amato war/action trashfest TOUGH TO KILL today and even posted the hard to find clamshell sleeve from Canada.  Oh, how I love this flick....Luc Merenda being Tough and Donal O'Brien doing the yelling and killing all while getting trumped by WABOO?  All day and all night, I'll watch this film.  It was an obsession to find the best possible print for me, and I have yet to see an improvement over the Japanese VHS.  Here is the jacket from the Columbia Japan release.
Hey, cool DVD / Blu Ray companies, check this movie out!  I love that the rights holder is listed as NUCLEO INTERNAZIONALE.  Not only could you license this film from them, you can also buy some form of superweapon that an Italian master criminal would hold over the head of Superargo!!
You know, I don't think I've ever actually written about Tough To Kill. That should change.  Click the scan for a nice big printable image and be sure to drop by the Basement of Ghoulish Decadence to see the awesome $1 Million in vulture meat tagline!  Right now!!

Very cool!

I've got the Greek VHS release of TOUGH TO KILL but it's not the best release by anybody's standards!! :/

David (or Jack), have you ever checked out the US DVD? I hear the quality is pretty shitty but the cover looks cool...

It's OOP, but super cheap on Amazon's Marketplace if interested.

Yep, the DVD is fairly poor-I gave mine away as a gift. It is probably a more stable solution than a tape, but it looks like it could have come off a Videoasia 5 pack at best.

Good cover though!

Jack, what does the Greek VHS look like?

Uhh, I got it recently and haven't watched it yet. I'll check it out and let you know but my bet is it'll be fullscreen and have lousy picture. Greek ex-rentals are great cos you can sometimes find stuff that's not released anywhere else (or is very rare anyway) but Greek tapes aren't known for their superior picture quality. LOL.

Cool, I love the Greek pre-records (though I saw about 99 percent of mine as boots) because they opened an entirely unique world of film so many years ago! Between that and the Dutch tapes I can't even count how many movies I've watched with those great subtitles all over the picture.
When you get a chance I would LOVE to see the artwork on the TTK tape!
