Of Man and Emmanuelle...on Laser Disc!

Many moons ago I thought it would be great to write a definitive history of Emmanuelle films called OF MAN AND EMMANUELLE.  The subject has been well covered over the ages, but here is a post of Emmanuelle related LDs to tickle your eyeballs!

Hong Kong LD--Drinking Devil's Honey With some Robot Jox!

More HK LD...some really rare ones here.  The cover for Fulci's THE DEVIL'S HONEY is quite the shot eh?  One of my favorite discoveries in Chinatown was that AMAZONIA disc...I have a strange soft spot for the film, which has popped up on multiple DVDs, and it had a great jacket.
And yes...Mortal Kombat Annihilation!

Hong Kong LD Hot Harbour

After all that awesome Japanese Laserdiscing, I thought it might be fun to go a different route today and present some Hong Kong LDs. The first batch are HK films and are some of the ones I most wanted to see.  This Dr. Lamb contains the BOWEL CAKE line in the subtitles that I adore so much. Robotrix is just batshit bizarre. The HK LD of Story of Ricky must have fueled a zillion bootleggers pockets and features one of the coolest jackets ever in my opinion.

My love of HK cinema, outside of endless loops of old school kung fu films on UHF and VHS tapes was all about having an LD player and riding the train into Boston Chinatown to rent, rip and return movies like this.  Sigh...I need to watch them all again sometime.  Stone Age Warriors is one I loved, but remember precious little of, barring that leap over the waterfall!  Enjoy...

Tough To Kill...On HK Laserdiscs!

It has been too long since I pimped out (uh..promoted) THE book on Italian Action of the 80s (and 1 or 2 from the 90s)...TOUGH TO KILL.  You can get it on your mobile device or in print and I don't think you'll regret it.  Now how is that for an endorsement?   Well, the Bookgasm review says it all in my opinion. Paul Cooke, the brilliant Ballistic Blood Bulleteer brings it and I tried to as well.  That said, I'm all about the Laserdiscs this week.
The only thing I can say is that I'd love to find a Last Match laserdisc simply to frame the jacket!  Larry Ludman Laser!  Set your beams to stunning, drop back and punt that helicopter out of the air!
